St. Kitts and Nevis HTA awarded CHA Small Hotels Retreat

Basseterre: June 30, 2008.

Representatives from many of the Caribbean's leading small and boutique hotels will be converging on St. Kitts in October for a high-profile conference, thanks to the efforts of the St Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association.

The St Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association has been awarded The Caribbean Hotel Association’s Small Hotels Conference and Trade show, which is expected to bring around 250 owners and managers of up market hotels to St. Kitts on October 1,2 &3 this year.

The hoteliers at the conference will all be members of the small hotels organization, which represents the interests of hostelries with 75 or fewer rooms.
Delegates will be converging on St Kitts from all over the region, from as far south as Guyana, as far north as Miami, as far east as Barbados and as far west as Mexico.
The conference will be held at the Royal St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Casino in Frigate Bay but Michael Head, manager of the HTA, stresses there is only one 'organized' evening event on their agenda, which means they'll have the chance to see more of St. Kitts and sample the island's restaurants and night life.

"It is ideal opportunity for St Kitts to show off its place in the conference world as well as our tourism product, said Head.”We've got a lot to be proud of, and we're hoping they'll be able to enjoy catamaran cruises, golf, and, most of all, our natural beauty and warm, friendly, people.

"In fact, I'm hoping many of them will be able to arrive a few days early or leave a few days late so they can really appreciate everything we have to offer."
